Blue Star Fried Hokkien Mee 藍星馳名福建面 reviews
35 Delicious hokkien mee
Auntie may seem a little annoyed at first but she is very nice and friendly!
Bought the 4.50 option and the noodles are great! Quite a bit of sotong given. Portion is quite small though
Eating this almost every week. Great flavour. But for a $5.50 plate of HKM, I would expect more than 4 tiny pieces of pork belly which I encountered yesterday.
Auntie face like I owe her money and boomers don't que and just order last time patronising this store
Amazing authentic flavour, insane wokhey, crazy good belachan chilli and honestly one of the best hokkien mees in hougang. Truly a hidden gem, but portions are a little small so order a larger size!
A sinful delicacy of fried yellow noodles and beehoon full of wok hei that is paired with lard bits, pork belly, squid and prawns selling at $4/$5/$6. The belachan chilli complements so well with the noodles.
Has been eating this for the past few decades, the quality is consistent all these years, they still laboriously toast their belachan before blending with chili. Respect
Wet-style hokkien mee stall managed by an elderly couple. Decent taste although there's no wok hei in the noodles. Serving size is smaller than I expected for a $5 portion. Prawns are also small and only 3 were given.
Helmed by an elderly couple who are friendly and efficient, the noodles infused with the flavorful prawn stock when combined with the potent chilli is a delight on the palate. Do yourself a favour and order the bigger portions, $4 is too little for something so good
People used to get confused between this stall and the one in Old airport food centre. They are unrelated and this stall has a better taste now. Nice place that serve both lunch and dinner.
Bad attitude uncle. Show a digusted look when ordering a $4 for 1 pax. Don't even deserve 1 star
Very shiok hokkien mee! Ordered the biggest portion of $6 and they give a lot of ingredients. Gravy gives just the right amount of moistness and got the wok hey flavour. Cash only.
Wasn't expecting this to be so good as there is no queue and there is not much people at the hawker. Extremely delicious hokkien mee and the stall owner is nice. Will come back again to try in future.
Early for lunch and the Lorong Ah Soo lor mee wasn’t open and neither was the Teochew fishball mee. So thought we would give this Hokkien mee at #02-26 a try.
I’ve been disappointed by too many Hokkien mee, so this joins the rank of yet another one. Ah well.
The prices are $4, $5 and $6. We ordered the $4 portion, which would have been quite little if it was delicious.
The elderly couple seemed sluggish and tired, so I had instant buyer’s remorse after I ordered, as I looked longingly at the long queue for the Punggol Noodles opposite.
So despite there being no queue (except for a takeaway order of 2 packets before mine was prepared), we waited almost 15 minutes for our 2 plates.
This is the wet type that I tend to favour. But the noodles has no wok hei and it is bland overall. The chilli and fried pork lard were also unable to lift the dish up.
Easily one of the better wet styled hokkien mee with decently good chilli in the east.
Stall is operated by an elderly couple.
The belacan is roasted over a charcoal fire before being used in the chilli.
Above average Hokkien mee but somehow I still
Miss my Changi village one but this is decent too
One plus is they have prawns sotong and pork belly strips which honest to old school style
Some shops just fish cakes and pork
Nice big serving of delicious Hokkien Mee! A 6 dollar pack can be shared by 2 if you don't eat a lot. Sotong used has eggs as well! Definitely the best Hokkien Mee around the area!
Bad attitude auntie. The face is like owe her money. 3/5 for the Hokkien mee. Not one of the best I ever ate. $6 for very small portion. Will not visit again.
Portions are for $4. Delicious hokkien mee, fried with generous serving of pork lard bits. Quite alot of squid with 2 big fresh prawns. Belachan chilli really adds a kick, a little bit goes a long way. Elderly couple running the stall. Noodles are packed in old school cardbox boxes lined with plastic. Very homely and nostalgic flavour!
Very decent Hokkien mee with generous portions. Chilli goes well and prawns are fresh.
Not the best in my opinion but definitely one I will go back to when I’m in the area.
Think this is the best hokkien mee so far in hougang. Slightly wet version, nice chilli and value for money. Think it is much under rated!
