Oberstrasse reviews
73 After paying for my drink I was told that it is prohibited to read or study or work here during peak hours. It’s fine to have your own policy but it would be great if it’s explained to the customers before payment.
Wouldn’t have sat here if I knew this ahead of time and saved my $20. Would never come back here…
Walk in to this restaurant but the staff turn me away because they not able to provide Trace Together Token scan. Not everyone use mobile app to scan in. Don't you have to be prepare for customer to use the token for scanning.
Oberstrasse, if you do not allow customers to use their tablets and laptops, please make it clear at the door or at point of order. You can have your house rules, but make the rules known so that customers can decide if they want to patronise.
Was pretty excited as this cafe seems to have good food review which also seems to compliment the service of the staff. But when we were here, and the staff only asked if we preferred indoor seatings or outdoors. Upon entry we expected to be seated on a table facing one another and we were asked to sit by the high chairs. We returned to asked the staff if we could sit at the table facing one another but she specifically said “we only requested for indoor seating but not the specific seat/table type”. This enraged us as firstly, we were not told we had to choose the table type as she only asked for indoor/outdoor seating and she blamed the issue on us not asking for a normal table. To put it all aside, the small cafe upon seated, claims that it requires 30-40 minutes for food to be served (after queuing outside for 30 minutes). On a side note, if the tone of the staff was friendlier, I wouldn’t have mind but when she twisted the blame to us, it just spoiled the entire image of “good service” we had in mind.
1+ hour waiting during lunch time. We wait 1+ hour for the food then they are still "10-15 mins to be done". So we end up NO food and go back to office to work.very depressing, not suitable for people have less than 2 hours lunch break.
Terrible. I ordered samon rosti and waited ONE AND HALF HOURS.still NO FOOD.when I ask, all staffs look so blur: what you order? There is another rosti meh? We can buy potato and cook know? I end up go subway and eat. You need 3 hour lunch break if you eat there in lunch time.
Zero reason to return again, food was average yet their beverage was worse. I reckon the coffee bean they used were stale… service staff wasn’t attentive to our needs.
Disappointing coffee, food is mediocre.most reviews that raved about this cafe seemed so fake. Anyway, parking is easy over here with parallel lots along the road.
This used to be one of my favorite cafes in Singapore, worth coming to for the flat white alone. However, they recently started implementing a no-laptops policy, which is absolutely ridiculous (especially when there are further seats available).
A time limit is fair (e.g. Max one hour during peak times) but it ruins the cafe experience to not be allowed to work at all, especially for those of us who just want to crank out a few emails in between errands.
There was only one waiter and a group of foreigner came in after our order. The waiter decided to serve them frist. Waited for more than 30mins for a simple coffee.
This is a cafe near kitchener complex, the food and ️ are exceptional. They even roast their own coffee beans, so the ️ is quite strong. We went there to try their smoke salmon and rosti, it was quite. They do serve pasta, breakfast meals and etc. You can check it out and try their rosti.eating rosti
Went there for afternoon coffee kick, no aromas of coffee when stepping into the cafe. Waffles with ice cream is literally means waffle + 1 scoop of ice cream which is overpriced…
Went to Oberstrasse because Tolido's Espresso Nook was out of Rosti at that timing (3.30pm). But my craving for Rosti is not satisfied because the Rosti served was burnt, even on the under side. However, the service crew said that cheesy Rosti is like that. So basically there's burnt and bitter aftertaste on every bite. Rate 1/5 star for this.
The pasta was pretty good but not exceptionally amazing. Drinks acceptable.
Average cafe food. Expected more with prices. Flat white was the sour type which is not to our liking. Food selection is not bad. They have Rossi & sausages too.
A cosy place serving delectable european style cusine, good for gatherings with friends and family
Two breakfasts ordered at the same time served half an hour apart. The food is good but the service isn't great.
Great atmosphere and proximity to Lavender MRT (although the mall directory was more confusing than helpful for finding our way to the cafe). Had the salmon egg sandwich - salmon tasted good but the toasted sandwich did not have the best consistency. But good portions and price for no GST and service tax! Water jugs and cups are available for self service.
Had a late lunch on Sunday afternoon. Ordered two latte, a rosti and seafood capellini. The cafe was quiet and not too crowded with nice interior and ambience. The staffs were friendly and attentive, and the food was good. Overall a pleasant dining experience!
Good coffee and blueberry coffee. Nice ambience but a little tricky to find since have to enter from the outside of mall
Great ambience, good breakfast options good coffee all fairly priced. Got the Spanish eggs benedict & flat white. Will return next time in Singapore.
