526 Hotplate BBQ reviews
38Nice and good seafood fried rice. The other dishes were nice as well. Lady boss is very friendly.
Came a few times and their standard for BBQ food never fails! Taste is good and food is fresh!
Very nice bbq stingray, but too bad they don sell flower crab anymore, they are once very famous for that
The seafood here is really well prepared and the sambal is great. Stingray, prawn, leatherjacket, prawns, lala, crayfish, angled beans, petai ladyfinger.
The coffee shop also has a great vibe that feels very homely and like coffee shops of the 1990s.
4 people sharing this. Lala sauce super good, no starchy sticky texture for lady fingers, sambal stingray really nice, generous serving for the fried rice as well. Had to add another stingray and fried rice:) could eat the rice with stingray sauce for days. Recommended!
Best in the west
Found this place while looking to use up my remaining CDC vouchers.
Stingray, fried rice, lady fingers, bbq prawns, sotong, lala.all good and clean. Sambal nice. Staff friendly. Can customised portion and spiciness of dishes. Recommended for BBQ!
Also has small playground and garden nearby, good for children. Downside is some people smoking within the hawker smoking area, mostly elderly drinking beers. So sit away from the yellow box area if you're non-smoker with kids.
Food is so so but expensive. Atmosphere is not ideal as it's a place more for peoples drinking beer.
Heard about this stall and came to try. Waited for more than 30 mins. Sting Ray was small little piece and cost $16! Chilli sauce was way too salty. Fried rice was saltish too.
Probably my first and last visit.
My favorite seafood grill hawker. Gravy is lighter than usual - and that is a good thing! Friendly aunties. Prices are reasonable for the portion.
First visit here was years ago and we recently came here again. This is a popular store and is easily a hawker dominator.
Quite a decent variety and had no complains with the stingray. The small stingray was approximately $8
Fried rice was alright and portion was generous @ $3.50 - but it could get rather surfeiting given the sheer size of the carbs onboard.definitely good for sharing though.
Will return to try the other dishes on the menu including crayfish, petai and grilled prawns!
Grilled prawns is to die for! I’ve honestly never tasted grilled prawns this good! The sambal here is not overly spicy or too sweet (sambal paste can sometimes be too sweet for my likely). It’s my first time here and I’ll be back in no time. P. S. Coffee shop is a little crowded and noisy but who cares when the food served at 526 hot plate BBQ is so good!
Food is great and service is excellent Had to make a last minute request but they were very nice about it despite being busy!
Reasonably priced and delicious bbq stingray, one of the better bbq stalls in the west. Fried rice was great too. If you are lucky you might also bump into the stall owner's pretty daughter! (DJ @933)
Awesome sambal used. Stingray bbq till edges crispy; soooo tasty!
the stringray is fresh and well prepped. Sambal sotong also super yummy! Does not have the chemical like some places do… Friendly service too. Lady boss mixed lady finger and petai so we didnt need to buy two seperate dishes for veggies.will definitely be back. Rare gem for westies.
Fried rice is a MUST to order for me! Stingray and ladies finger are really tasty too. Portion size are on the larger side so more can share. Looong waiting time and sometimes the staff can be quite rude and fierce lol speaking for regular experience of ordering but ohwells food is good la
A gem in the west!
1) Lady's fingers were cooked to perfection. $8.2) Fried Rice with 6 prawns was generous. A dollop of sambal to go with it. Slivers of cabbage to give it a crunch. For $6, an excellent value.
3) Sambal Sotong was another excellent dish. Generous amount of sliced onions and sambal to give it a kick. $12.4) Stingray was another winner. A whiff of banana leaf and the accompanying tangy onion and vinegar mix gave it added lift. $20.
The waiting time is about 25 mins during dinner period.
A place where you can find fresh fish and yummy dishes. All time fav and now due to covid less people otherwise is always long q.
Fresh seafood at very reasonable price cooked with supercilious sambal! Simply super yummy! There is also open space carpark behind the coffeeshop the stall is in. Worth a drive to Jurong just for bbq seafood. Will visit again.
Came a little late (8.15pm) so they ran out of stingray.ordered the sotong anyway because i wanted to try the sambal sauce and it definitely didn’t disappoint.a little pricey (i feel but i’m no seafood pricing expert) at $10 for a small plate of sambal sotong.minus one star solely due to the price.very different from other seafood sambal places because this sambal sauce was not very spicy (i can’t take super spicy) and the sauce was quite refreshing with lime squeezed on it.the onions fried in the sauce was especially delicious.the squid was juicy and not over cooked, could still feel the juice as i chew on it.will definitely come back earlier to try the sambal another day.what an unexpected find.
Love the BBQ stingray, with or without chilli. The other dishes must try are crayfish, the four heavenly kings and fishes (different daily).
