The best kaya buns I have eaten. I always end my morning walks there when I get a chance because there is something comforting about the warm buns and tea at YY.

They only accept cash and no food is available at 6: 30 in the evening. It’s a waste of my time!

Came on a Saturday morning and it took about 5 minutes to wait for a table, about 10 minutes to queue, and about 15 minutes to wait for food.
Kaya toast is a thick-crusted bread that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The store is filled with the bustling atmosphere of a traditional old shop.
It may be inconvenient to bring small children or strollers.

Never visited this coffeeshop before, opens at 8am and on a Sat morning, a queue of more than a dozen people before the shutter went up.

For those visiting for first time, do note once the shutter goes up, you will see 2 queues quickly formed up.

Join the left queue if want to order fried beehoon (rice vermicelli) or noodles, you can also order your drinks, or toast here, they will give you a buzzer to let you know when to collect your drinks, at the pickup point at the end of the right queue.

If you only want a drink or toast, join the right queue. They may ask for your table number if you order a full breakfast set or more when dining in.

Payment by cash or paynow/Paylah only, using the SG QR code.

Softboiled eggs were on point, nice and slurpable! Fried beehoon and noodles are home cook style, red chilli sauce and green cut pickled chilli available.

Overall food is enjoyable and good introduction to local breakfast food, but slightly expensive compared to typical neighborhood coffeeshop or hawker food, but comparable to Toast Box or Ya Kun.

Lots of seating, especially along the five foot walkway. Interesting place, just opposite South Beach Tower.

Enjoy!

One of our favorite breakfast areas in Singapore. I drink Kopi O Kosong and this is one of the few places where it's nicely done. This is not easy as the coffee beans must be nicely roasted and the coffee brewed can't be kept too long in the sock as it will turn sour after a period of time. Their economy bee hoon is nice too. Worth a visit especially for tourists. This is so much better than the Ya Kun and Toastbox franchise you see all over Singapore.

Great old school charm with traditional kopitiam quality food. Price is reasonable and good value considering it is town area.

Singapore YY Kafei Dian (Singapore Happy Garden), I would like to call him the best Kaya Bread in Raffles Place

The ratio between locals and tourists is 70/30. Many people come here to eat Yi noodles and chicken rice. If you just want to drink Kopi and bread, you can go directly to the checkout area in the middle area to pay.

In addition to cash, the payment method also includes Paynow (which can be integrated with Grab pay), so it is more convenient to check out than other non-chain coffee shops.

The taste of Kopi is lighter than that of Kopi and Nanyang. I personally prefer this less sweet and refreshing taste. The most powerful thing is the puffy bread body of Kaya. The visual taste is probably different due to the larger cup size (OAO or something) sense of metaphor

However, hot spring eggs are also the most raw cooking method. Friends who are interested can think about it before ordering.

The overall price is also the most affordable among all coffee shops.

Our friends say we were lucky at that time because its usually crowded. Of course we got lemon chicken and coffee beef.

The kaya toast was amazing - slightly crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside; and the kaya was thick and flavorful, slightly different from those I've tried elsewhere. I also had the claypot horfun while my friend tried the pork chop rice, and they were both pretty good. Lastly (and most importantly), the kopi's very good - smooth, gao and well balanced. Love to come back for more.

Have always liked this place. White bee hoon is delicious and comforting. A simple no frills coffeeshop with good food and atmosphere. The service is quick and no fuss, except the queue can be pretty long especially in the weekend mornings. But the place and the people are cheerful at the same time. What more is there to ask?

Oh, there's also the good traditional coffee, tea, soft-boiled eggs, soft Kaya bun and ham-and-cheese bread. Enjoy!

YY is one of the old school places that houses your traditional loti (bread), half boiled eggs and coffee/tea/Milo. Indulge in generous kaya (a kind of coconut/pandan pasts) filling slathered between two thick cut bread. Add a good’o cup of coffee (I like my bread with Milo) and you’re set for the day. Catch up on the morning news while you wait for your order to be served to you (this despite being in a Coffeeshop). Queue’s long in the morning so be ready for that!

First visited years ago during lunchtime to have the claypot horfun but did not think much of it. For me, the magic is in the breakfast - Singaporean favourites like fried bee hoon / fried kway teow mee with selection of add-ons like egg, fried daokwa, luncheon meat, hot dog, fish cake, otah, drumlet. The chilli sauce goes very well with the bee hoon/mee to achieve an addictive wokhei. Been going almost weekly if I'm earlier in the area before work.

Had to wait for over 20mins and watch the people who came after us finish their mouth-watering toast. By the time we got our toasts, we had no more saliva to mouth-water. We had to remind them a few times.

Oh apparently saying kaya toast set does not mean there are eggs. So must specify all the items you want because 'set' does not mean a 'set of toast, a drink and eggs'. Set doesnt mean much actually and they'd be ready to argue with you. So i had to wait another 15mins for eggs.

My breakfast became lunch and I probably saved myself a meal for today.

Super busy during lunch time. Staffs are friendly. The bread buns are crispy outside and soft inside. Will come back to try the other delicacies

Went there after lunch and clearly this is the place to go to if you want to savour the taste of the locals.

The bread is unlike the usual sliced bread, instead u are given buns and what I like is that they use traditional butter pieces and not margarine or butter spread.

You get to taste malay or peranakan kuehs as well. Don't know the names of the items, so just point when u order.

You got to place your order and pay up 1st, and they will serve u your order, unlike normal kopitiams in Singapore where u find your seats and place order. Price is reasonable but may be relatively difficult to find a seat during peak hours and more so if u have a large group.

But the entire experience is good plus it is situated in a nostalgic street in Singapore, next to Raffles Hotel.

When you arrive, join the queue, place your order and your food and drinks will be served. Very orderly and affordable food.

Chicken rice is tasty and tender, generous portion. I felt they are better than those chained chicken rice places.

Not to be missed are their buns. Freshly made and I will always pay and have add extra kaya and butter. It will go deep into your bun and ooze out. The butter and kaya has to go together. It is just so good.

Delicious hainanese chicken rice. Went twice since I have discovered it. Busy at lunch and dinner time.
