This is my second visit: The staffs attitude are bad! No proper ordering process, did not provide receipt upon paying,
The same staff while making drink and take order at the same time….
The first visit: totally forgot our order, and waited for food about an hour. The cashier wanted to insist we did not order the food. But we had make the full payment however no proof due to no receipt provided.if got no star, I will post as no star!

Old school coffeeshop vibes and traditional toast. Unfortunately the toast fell short for us, with a lack of flavour and butter taste.

Their drinks are on the heavy side. Their milo is rich and sweet, and tea has a nice, astringent taste to it.

Disappointing - iced kopi c was very very sweet, Kaya was one of the worse I’ve ever had as a Singaporean. I don’t know if it’s their style but their Kaya was clumpy and not good like tasteless and no Pandan fragrant. Quite shocking because I thought this was supposed to be traditional and original and old, unlike the commercialised ones like YK and TB. Plus they are so highly rated. Eggs are basic, can’t really screw up soft boil eggs so that was ok.

Very very nice kaya, especially if you like yours with a bit of texture. Not too sweet too. Ate with butter crackers. Purposely went all the way there just to buy for the second time

Good strong thick coffee.nice homemade kaya.they changed the way they toast the bread so it is now way too dry.skip their nasir lemak it's bad! I suspect they use margerine n not butter.

Good historic location, have a very old school vibe. The food was alright, nothing really special. Taste just like any other kaya toast shop. Worth the visit if it is your first time.

I don't understand the hype. This play is way too overpriced for the quality. Barely taste any kaya or butter in the (very) thin toast. With this price, yakun or any other kopitiam toast is more value for money.

Went there on a Friday past 4 pm for afternoon tea. Bought the french toast set and the pre-wrapped nasi lemak.

The french toast itself was quite decent. The bread was evenly coated with egg and served with kaya on the side. However, the coffee was below average; flat and thin. There was a strange and off-putting odour when the soft boiled eggs were cracked open. Not sure whether it was coming from the plate but the eggs tasted normal.

The nasi lemak was the worst. As a responsible seller, they should have stopped selling it after so many hours since it looked like it was sold since morning. True enough, the rice was cold. The peanuts ikan bilis and chilli were separately wrapped and it was overall a disappointing purchase for 2 dollars.

Nothing special on the food. Steamed bread was terrible, serve extremely cold instead of 'steam'. Customer management is sucks. There is more breakfast spot worth a visit at the surrounding.

Went Tong Ah eating house for dinner last weekend with family. The food still as good as before. Too bad my favourite Braised pork not available. Worth your time there and your stomach space. The kopi o thick and fragrance.

One of the oldest and humblest local Kopitiamin Singapore. A wonderful quaint place for a simple yet sufficing morning breakfast or evening tea.

We tried everything in the breakfast menu and all of it was delicious. Definitely try and French Toast and Crispy Thin Kaya Toast. The Kopi C and Teh C are delightful on the palate. Something you cannot get in a modern day "Kopitiams" that dot the island at every corner.

The staff was characteristically simple and homely in their service and interaction. This place had the feel of a neighborhood gathering spot - so lovely!

One of the shops along keong siak that opens before 8am (opens at 7am!) - great place to get a strong dose of coffee to get your day started. Warning though if you're not used to the local traditional cuppa flavour - a kopi poh is what you would want if it's an "Americano" is what you're after.

The soft boiled eggs are my favourite. You have a choice between two different black soy sauces to accentuate the taste. One is is the light soya sauce which you add if you want it a little salty and the dark soya sauce is a bit more on the sweet and salty.

If unsure - just try one egg with each sauce!

But I think one of the best thing of eating here are the roadside seats. Best in the early morning before the crowd sets in and when the morning air is still cool.

Nothing unique about the food. Normal toast set that you can find at other places at a similar or lower price, but done with much more care and love of the food. Taste wise, nothing fantastic, coffee was thick but not aromatic like some traditional coffee place. The person in charge of the payment collection is quite rude and have a tendency to only focus on selected people as she deemed fit (?). She just ignored me and asked the people behind me to order. Luckily the couple was very polite and apologised for cutting my queue. I’m more than happy to let others go first, but consider the mess and the time spent queueing, I think everyone deserves to be given the 20 second attention and do their order when it’s their turn.
People go there to have a simple breakfast, but the shouting and ignorance from that lady kinda ruined my morning.

The kaya is not so sweet which is great. But I still prefer other kaya toasts. Comparable pricing to all the other kaya toast shops.

The Kaya toast is indeed good as the reviews say. Good balance of butter and Kaya with bread that is well toasted. Some parts of the eatery can be warm but there are numerous fans so position yourself well.

Delicious kaya toast which wasn't too sweet (compared to the chain which I found too sweet). Also tried the nasi lemak which I found just okay.

2 breakfast set cost 11.30 and not fantastic. You can easily find a better toast at your neighborhood! Haha

Great for your regional toasts (try their homemade kaya), eggs & coffee/tea!

They have zichar available from 1100hts too!

Old school eating house for kaya toasts, coffee and eggs. Worn-out furnishings but that’s all part of the vibe.
