Toa Payoh Lorong 5 Food Centre reviews
51This ratings are base on the halal stalls, also includes the drinks & desserts stalls as only these stalls I'd patronized usually in the evening bcoz theres not much of choices around near the area.but heres praises for fruit drinks auntie & beancurd stall.
There is so much variety of hawker food here! Love the grilled seafood, wan ton noodles, chinese porridge. Yummy
Good place for a quick bite for lunch, dinner and supper. Currently undergoing renovations and reopening on 14 Mar 2020.
One of my favourite food centres to go. The variety of food is extensive, from fishball noodles to satay, a trip here is sure to satisfy any cravings for local foods. After your meal, you could also try one of the desert options available. Overall a highly recommended place to visit.
Mondays are normally not a good day for a visit as most food stalls are closed! Always open is the corner Soybean n chinchow dessert stall, the atap chee with chinchow is my favorite! Had dry meepok at the Song Kee Kway Teow stall, for $4 you get 6 fishballs n meatballs with yr noodles, a bit oily but taste wise okay!
The place is small compared with other hawker centre. My favourite is the char kway teow. There are 2 stores side by side selling the same things. Both looks quite deliciouse but I was told that the fatter man 's store is better. Other foods that I like are, the BBQ seafood, chicken rice (long queue), satay and chicken wings
Small and compact hawker Center that has many stalls that open late into the night, somewhere that you can come and look for supper. Famous stalls include song Kee fishball noodles, fried chicken wings, Dou Hua stall, Hokkien mee amongst others.
One star for the 芳园沙爹 and 砂煲鸡饭 beside 达记fried chicken rice. Both terrible attitude. No food showing up after one hour waiting. Understand that need to wait at least 30 mins when ordering the food, but when we follow up with the staff about the order, they keep mentioning they’re preparing. Fine! But when my mum’s turn to follow up, they only take the paper (order) and start preparing the food! Suck! It was one hour ago! Will never order their food again.
I tried the Hokkien mee in the hawker center, the taste is average, but the ingredients are surprisingly little and small portion.
Small and compact low ceiling hawker center which been recently renovated. Few interesting old hawkers around. Side facing housing garden is relaxing, especially when having a meal or a drink while watching the world passes by.
BEST frequent place very nice Chendol not facing main road. $1.60 per bowl. Rojak hard fight with HDB hub Rojak.
You can get delicious local food here (such as chong pang bbq chicken wings, fried keow tiao, hokkien mee, satay, oyster omelette) one of the best dishes here is the satay. The rest of dishes so-so.
Good place for fishball noodles, the stall is one of the original hawkers here, since the late 70s, fried chicken wings rice is excellent, and the other good one is the ee mian stall facing the main road.
There is a wide variety of food. While the food is good, the toilets in the "ladies" was terribly filthy!
Only the desert stall wth the single lady boss manning stall is
good, the other is the fried chicken wing stall, the rests, all overpriced.
Used to offer better food. Taste used to be good but now it's feels like a common hawker standard. Only a few things worth eating now. The clay pot rice, the cha kui teow, fish ball noodles, the fried chick wings from the chicken rice store, the western food is fair, rojak is not bad. The rest are new store owners and cook skill inherited.as good as our PM from his old man. You get what I mean.
Crowded and quite difficult to get a parking lot at times although there are ample parking lots. Many great stalls and lots of good delicious food at reasonably cheap prices. Char-kwey-teow, Prawn-mee, Claypot-rice, Tow-hoo-goreng (Chinese), Teochew-mee, Ooh-qian (oyster), Chicken-rice, Chicken-wings and many more great stalls. Go and find out, guarantee no regrets.
Great variety of food for dinner. Try the song kee fish ball noodles, ban mian, chicken rice, Char kway teow when you're there.
Wow. I love this food centre. Varieties of yummy food and dessert Especially the delicious satay with pineapple in the gravy.and the prawn noodle Some stores are opened as late as past midnight. Highly recommended!
Tried the ban mian (soup) while my husband tried the meehoon kuay (dry). The soup base ban mian was perfect; the noodles were smooth and silky, soup had a nice flavour with a generous portion of egg. The dry one was so-so, thought that the meehoon kuay was slightly undercooked. Will be back for the banmian for sure!
The queue moved quickly, the stall has an efficient system of taking orders, collecting money and preparing the food so you wont have to wait for that long (perhaps ard 5-10mins).
