The Concourse reviews
10Building located at 300 Beach Road, It is opposite City Gate and the nearest MRT station is Nicoll Highway MRT station. The building has a unique design that makes it stand out from the crowd. It is especially beautiful at night when all the lights are on. There is a Starbucks on the first floor, but there are no other amenities in the building. However, there are many amenities in the surrounding area.
Nice location, with a sheltered walkway all the way from Nicoll Highway MRT. I mainly come here for Malt!
Located at the convenient place with lots of amenities around. Nicoll Highway MRT is just few steps away. The design of The Concourse is unique and very attractive.
Designed by architect Paul Rudolph, It is also octagonal in plan, as the number "8" for the octagon is associated with prosperity in Chinese culture.
Quarter of century was my go to place namely The Psychedelic Pub and Elvis pub during the mid 90' s. Never ending fun in a quiet location on Beach road.
Sometimes into the wee hours till we staggered our way home.
Waking up with a hangover.
Overall a very beautiful building with stunning views and safe security. However, the chinese receptionist in specs at first floor is rude and unfriendly in assisting the access card to the office for visitors. She didn’t even bother speaking properly and I had to guess what she wanted to say as a result, which led to her being more lazy and impolite in her tone. Spoilt my day.
Nice spacious building and good place to work. View from the building is awesome. I visited this office many times.
Some interesting cafes and pubs that one can enjoy after work. We love some of these places and their upholstery chairs. We can tell some of them have put in effort to create that lovely feeling to their place.
The Concourse's site was acquired in competition in the Urban Redevelopment Authority's 8th Sales of Sites programme in 1979. The project commenced in 1981 as the Hong Fok Centre but construction stopped when Singapore's economy was hit by a recession in the mid-1980s.
In 1987, the architectural firm Architects 61 and architect Paul Rudolph re-designed the complex. They retained what was already constructed, and revamped the remainder in order to accommodate new programmaticrequirements.
Built at a cost of S$248.1 million and to a height of 175 metres (574 ft) for its office tower, The Concourse was completed on 5 February 1994.
