Do note that if you plan to visit during 20-22 Dec 2023, they are closed.

Great Seaham (aka cockle), fresh, 6 tender.

Good texture of thick bee hoon/noodle, pre-cut for the convenience of eating using only spoon, no chopstick.

The average spice level of chilli, it added a pleasant fragrance and a hint of sweetness toward sweet.instead of pure over power spice, so if your spicy tolerant level is low, you can consider this

Fresh taugay (aka beansprouts), crunchy, sweet, and juicy.

If you don't like thick laksa gravy, then this is for you. A milder version of the laksa gravy, with less spice.

I know some complaints it does not come with beancurd, but I do appreciate the absence of the beancurd, as sometimes beancurd will absorb most of the laksa gravy and overpower the original favour of the condiments or noodle.

Overall, it is a satisfying and flavorful experience.

However, if you ask, am I willing to Q more than 20 minutes or drive an hour here. My answer is no, but I am willing to re-visit this place with friends or if I'm nearby with no Q.

The Most Recommended Hidden Gem of Laksa. Only sell 1 menu = Laksa with fishcake & cockles.

Sometimes you must be patient with queue. And you must bring your own chopstick, because they only prepare spoon.

This Laksa has comfort taste and smell very amazing (they still cook with wood charcoal).

When i visit Singapore, I always eat twice or triple on that trip.

Very Recommended

The line was rather long and it was about a 25 mins wait (service is not super fast) around 12.40pm on a Monday. The bowl of laksa (soup and chilli) was quite fragrant and I’m most impressed with the very fresh cockles. The herbs was also a nice touch to the bowl of noodles. There’s a lot of rules established by the store though, no photos/no videos/no chopsticks (they give you a spoon which is fine for their short noodles). We finished the bowl including the soup. Affordable price: $4/bowl although it’s considered not a big bowl.

Long wait for an absolutely mediocre bowl of laksa! Despite the hype use of charcoal, the laksa gravy (which is the soul of the dish) is so diluted that I can hardly taste it! And at $4 for a really small bowl with hardly any ingredients in the bowl except the noodle, it is really expensive.

Truth be told that i still missed the Toa Payoh Laksa that closed permanently during covid.

THIS IS THE WORLD BEST LAKSA, I think the Singapore Michelin food critic did not try this original Sungei Road Laksa but tried a fake stall and name the fake stall in their Michelin guide. If not, the food critic have taste bud problem. Naming a rubbish Laska stall in Hong Lim in their Michelin guide instead of this ORIGINAL STALL.

Food is not bad and quite cheap, but not the best laksa in Singapore. But if you have a craving for laksa, you can consider coming here

Gravy is more watery than I remembered, but with the hot and humid weather, it actually is less strenuous on the stomach (jelat) than expected. As usual I need 2 bowls to satisfy my stomach.

I would say this is the best laksa you can ever find in heartland Singapore. For a mere $3, treat your tastebuds to a good portion of noodles and cockles, both cooked to perfection. It is worthwhile to mention this lives up to my expectation of how laksa should be imagined with its balanced yet flavourful broth topped with cockles at the freshness you won’t usually get at other joints. However, this dish can definitely live up to its fullest potential had they added more fried shrimps and shallots, and made their belacan more fragrant to pack a punch. In overall, this bowl of laksa still didn’t disappoint.

Long queue but the food was great. Small portion and cold cockles, could have done better on the ingredients but the soup is awesome.

Best laksa in Singapore! Small portion but very delicious. Smooth beehoon, very fresh ingredients, laksa gravy is very tasty!

Cockles are big, eat already very shiok. Contrarily, the laksa gravy is very diluted and salty. $3 for a small bowl of laksa, and without prawns, really not worth it!

Long queue on a weekday. Laksa here is OK, would not say it is out of this world good. Good if you have a craving for Laksa and happen to be in the vicinity

Lovely. The taste is still the same all these years. Portion just nice not too much not too little so the taste lingers.

Been eating this since the days when they were outside the sungei road ice factory. Taste has deteriorated, less tasty. When they increased the price to $3, the serving was 3/4 full. Today its 1/2 full. 3 scoops is enough to finish the bowl. My opinion is that it is overpriced. Will think twice again to visit this stall.

Last time I ate was at coffee shop opposite Ah Boy bike accessories shop. Now they have shifted here. And they have a queue system!

I would consider this as Gen2 taking over from the Uncle (owner). They still using the charcoals to cook each bowl.

Flavour wise I felt something is missing from the original taste. I personally felt it’s a little diluted, missing the strong aroma of the Laksa. Could be coconut juice, I don’t know. The Hum (cockles) are very fresh. Usually I don’t eat them when I’m outside. But these are good.

If you are expecting a SUPER nice bowl of laksa, I’d suggest managed your expectation first. I’m giving 4 stars because they were once really authentic and good. Memories.
