Shutters reviews
25This is a terrible restaurant with very bad service. The wait staff pretended not to see you when you rasied your hand and the food was totally below average. The napkins were not refill at all. I will never return
The aircon is not cold enough.the buffet seems to be very amateur.all the grill smoke filled the aircon area and the dessert became diluted with ice.do not put fish on the stove.you put on warmer with hot water not above fire.your bread is located next to the chinese soup? And your butter is melted.definitely understaff.and the seating area is a little too tight for moving around.
Avoid at all cost. Not even 1 for 1.
Food choice is limited, 7 choices of food. BBQ and grill is only 6 choices and always not available.
I will rank this buffet the lowest and worthless in Singapore.
This must have been one of the most disappointing dinner we had in a long time. First we got moved from a nice table to a dark in the middle of the room table - for no reason (the original table was never occupied), second, we ordered three mains (as you would for 3 people), but one got forgotten, so we only had two people eating - 20min apart from the orders coming out. And third, the chicken burger was so soggy and disgusting- my daughter left most of it on the plate. No way we would ever go back.
Ordered beef stroganoff and it was not good at all. Tasted like instant chicken noodle soup. The beef texture was really weird, ended up leaving more than half the plate uneaten. Some cocktails on the menu were not available. It was dinner time and there was only one other table and I can see why. Such a shame as this was the only restaurant in the compound.
Had a dinner and breakfast here.
Food was amazing.
However the staff service was a disaster. We Indian couple were blind to them.
I checked for reviews and could find that they really indeed has race based preference and even respect. It seems they don't change based on reviews as well.
We got a tea that was prepared with cold water. When asked to replace it, it never came back.
Worst of all there's a male staff who's very rude. At the end of our dinner, I waved him to bring me a glass of water. He looked at me angrily, mouthed some words and just took his bag and left the restaurant fast. I looked around and there was nobody else.
May be it was closing time but what was that?
Had breakfast here as we stayed at the resort. Buffet spread is alright, but chefs did not know how to prepare eggs. We asked for runny, half-boiled eggs (the type you get at kopitiam but they arrived almost hard-boiled even after redoing a new set for us. Overheard another table asking for over-easy eggs and also getting overdone eggs?
Ordered room service from the restaurant and were told they accept card payment, but the staff who sent the food informed us that the signal was poor in most of the hotel and that it would take awhile for the EFTPOS machine to connect. Our transaction was unsuccessful so we had to pay cash. The staff was apologetic but honestly this seems like an issue which management just doesn’t care about enough to fix since apparently it happens often.
Nice food quantity, quality, presentation, restaurant ambience and friendly and helpful staff, but cleanliness and upkeep is a bit suspect. Sofa seemed a bit dirty, and found a spider scampering about and what seemed like termites on the table.
Nice ambience and I would go for their western food rather than local fare for price value ratio. They are on Eatigo so it’s really worthwhile if you have weekday late afternoons to spare.
I had a pleasant experience @ Shutters. It has a nice, homely ambience and great service by the staffs. They offered to give us a fresh plate of steak when the degree of doneness was not right. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves!
Food quality not bad but cleanliness on table, towel napkins and floor can improve. The hotel environment feel relaxing.
The dinner buffet has great service and seafood. The lobster was especially good. However, I found the grilled meats was a miss - maybe I got unlucky and had a charred piece.
Staying at the Amara Hotel and the kids have wanted to keep coming back to Shutters Restaurant for dinner. My youngest loves the spaghetti and the chef is very generous in their portions. Every other dish we have had has been great such as the laksa, wagyu hor fun and other pastas. The service from Jennifer has been impeccable.
We had the pleasure of dining at Shutters during their "Grill N' Chill Dinner Buffet, " and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The array of food choices was impressive, and the taste of the dishes was truly delicious. The service we received was not only attentive but also highly professional. One staff member, Jennifer, stood out with her exceptional service, and we would like to commend her for going above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. We look forward to returning to Shutters in the future.
Shout out to Maria Joy aka Ms Mj. She is very efficient, attentive and helpful.
Overall the staff were all courteous and happy to serve.
Food is worth your money.
Good local food but pricey.aircon was down but no problem with mobile blower next to table.friendly staff
2 staff covering the dinner shift, with substantial amount of customers, yet both put on their best attitude to their service.
Only manage to get the name of a service staff named Marie Joy.
Great service staff are rare these days.
Ordered the wild mushroom truffle oil ($15).
So nice that makes you hungry for your mains.
Ordered seafood cioppino ($35). Seafood consist of a clay fish, some scallops, prawns and green mussels.
Makes your stomach growl for more.
Garlic chicken chop cilantro ($25).
The skin of the chicken chop is crispy, which is different style from regular chicken chop.
Home cooked style meal that gives the “warmth to your stomach. ”
Our family had our dinner there on Sun. The food and ambience were great.
The best was the service. Would want to commend Marie Joy. She was excellent and she made the meal there a most memorable one.
Food was excellent. Our server Marie was as excellent. Very pleasant ambience. All in all, we will definitely be coming back regularly!
Great service (huge thanks to Aina and Daryl) and nice ambience. Prices are reasonable in light of its location (we need to expect higher prices since it’s a restaurant in a Sentosa hotel), food is of good quality though big eaters may deem portion sizes a tad small.
