3Great place to dine and have a slow start morning. Food is good and people were friendly. If you don’t mind the manyao music as bgm, you will enjoy this.
First impression is that they are NOT out to impress. This $5 bowl merely gave me a taste of their potential. The gravy tastes pretty solid, but there is nothing much underneath. I dug and dug but found nothing much, just some sprouts, bits of meat, half an egg and a few slices of fish cake. No ngoh hiang, no pork belly, no pile of shredded fish, no crispy fried anything. Nothing. I believe this is just the taster. Oh well. I don’t think I’ll come back especially when there so many good ones nearby. What a waste. Much potential here.
Drove past lorong 24 and saw this modern bistro like kopi tiam. Noticed almost everyone was eating lor mee and decided to try. It was quite decent though i do not fancy lean meat over the traditional braised pork belly. The sauce is thick and slightly sweet but could do better with more "lor" taste. Portion was pretty big as i opted for small ($4). Will come by another time to try laksa and fish ball mee pok. Always good to see youngster in F&B trade.
