Long Xiang Hougang Hainanese Curry Rice 龍香后港海南咖哩饭 (#01-25)

Revisited this stall after some 1 year plus ago. Pull was the beef stew BUT, my serving this evening is very far from the taste I previously experienced: beef pieces were mainly chewy and only a few sufficiently tender. Even the potatoes were off. No more fragrance, no more heart and soul in the cooking any more. The sweet and sour pork looked really promising BUT only the sauce was good, but the pork over-fried or something to become really chewy. Good thing my gnashers were in good shape to eat through them. Only the rice and fried cabbage was good. The curry sauce, though thick also did not have any fragrance or a good level of spiciness. $6.60. This is off my list if I come by again. Sad.

Standards dropped a lot compared to before. Used to be my fav economic rice stall at Kovan…. Hope they do something to change about it…

Please do not bother buying from this shop. Rice with cabbage, potato cost me $4.40 today and when I question the aunty about the pricing she show some attitude. Please avoid this shop. Overpriced with attitude aunties…

Expensive, 2 pc vegetables and 1 meat cost $5.20+. Food is cold and bland, like not fresh at all. Might as well go next door cai png or mee hoon!

Tried few times and still the same. They are selling in quantity so they don’t bother about quality of food whether fresh or not. The meat is rubbery hard.

Very ex now a plate of bee hoon $4 after adjusted inflation. Had to settle for this stall after all its fast moving queued stall. Really insanely tad average as on taste quality, not worth your time.

Used to be one of my favourite stalls in Kovan for many years but not anymore. Rude staff and food is ridiculously overpriced. Will not patronise them anymore.

Just ate today. 1 meat, 1 veg and 1 egg at $4.40. But standard drop leh. Curry not as tasty as before. Disappionted.

I don't mind if you charge more due to inflation, but please have better attitude. And the small shrimp is $1 for 1 piece. If not because i cannot get it at Old Chang Kee as they were oos, I will not buy it here. First and last time.

Nubbad. Will I eat again? Yes, if my regular scissor cut curry rice is sold out, like today. The potato with sliced pork stood out for me. But here I am thinking rice and potato like a lot of carbs leh. Anyway… Everything else, regular. But at least their vegetables are not overcooked and still crunchy, which is the way I like. No “narb narb” (soggy) vegetables please.

Quality has dropped. Food/ curry sauce no longer as tasty. Wanted to order chicken chop, but not available. Clarified if it will be back, only to draw a blank look from the staff collecting money. 15 Jan marks the last time ordering from this stall.

Standrad dropped alot from when I patronised them 1-2 years back. Curry didn't seem to be as flavourful, pork Chop is pretty much tasteless and my goto minced pork patty has also lost the taste which I enjoyed before.

Furthermore, as overpriced as ever, the 2 meat 1 veg cost me $5.60? Better off patronising your local coffee shops caipng shop.

Overhyped. Food so-so. One bad experience, overcharged after tabao-ing few packets home. Suggest: use calculator to sum up the numbers on the plastic box!

I ordered packet rice, pork chop, broccoli and brinjal for $6.40 (shocked by the price and thought maybe its the rising cost) I double confirm: $6.40? The lady said yes $6.40

My husband packet the EXACT SAME DISHES and was told its $4.60
What? !
Realised at home when we open up the pack of rice that we ordered the same but was charged differently.
Used to buy from them often but i guess this will be the last time: (
