Legendary Bak Kut Teh 發传人肉骨茶 reviews
51 I stopped by here because a nearby famous store was very crowded.
We had a baby with us, so they provided us with a baby chair, which was helpful.
The bak kut teh was soft and I was surprised at the strength of the pepper at first bite, but as I ate it I started to get used to it.
When eaten with the sauce, it tasted like char siu and was delicious.
For the carbohydrates, I chose rice noodles, which also went well.
Compared with Songfa, why should I order the soup here as it is a little spicier?
The pepper and garlic taste is strong!
There may be a shortage of manpower, so you need to keep asking the waiter to add soup.
The only advantage: the spoons and chopsticks are scalded with hot water, which is quite hygienic and not bad!
The Bak kut the taste is totally different from Malaysia to be honest, I should say it’s not the same thing, we can’t compare between both dishes from different country, both has its unique flavor and taste.
I personally love the Bak kut teh with strong pepper flavor from Singapore than the one with herbs flavor in Malaysia.
The dishes was not bad, stir fried vegetable was flavorful and tasty. The pork trotter was abit salty though.
Firstly, quite liking this branch layout, ambience, nice and spacious. The whole dining environment is quite pleasant.
Staff were really nice too as I only wanted one pork ribs and pig stomach and they obliged. The soup is peppery enough but quite salty (once a while is ok). Portion for rice and ingredients average but you get the soup for top up as at many BKT places, but what I really like about here is they served the soup in a larger bowl, which is so much easier to drink and less messy.
The bak kut teh is tender, soup was well seasoned. We tried the pork intestines and it tasted crunchy, really good
Not sure if the soup is refillable as it’s get cold after awhile and I really like the soup, would love to always have warm, hearty soupy to pair with the food ️
This place is a, must go place for bah kut teh. The flavour is, definitely spot on and has, been recommended by my local Singaporean friends. I wish i could live in Singapore so i can come by everyday
Came in for a weekend dinner, very bad experience. Extremely bad service (one person serving the entire restaurant, cant even get a refill of the soup), soup was cold and portions were small and expensive ($1.20 for a ridiculously small portion of rice). Will never come back again.
No crowded although it is just opposite boat quay along south bridge road. Food was just ok but sesame oil claypot chicken had some strange sour taste. Service was very prompt and accomodating though.
There’s a cockroach on our table while we were eating. First time seeing a cockroach in Singapore and it’s on our table…. The staff didn’t even apologize.
The bak kut teh tastes excellent. It has a strong taste of garlic and pepper. The portion is very small but you can refill it for free~ However, the ribs are so dry. The long ribs are slightly better.add-ons are quick expensive but the taste is good ($6.5 for a very small size of veggies)
Overall, taste is good but it seems a bit overpriced
Tastes good, but prices for some add-ons (like peanuts and veggies) are unreasonably high. One other popular Bak Kut Teh chain nearby has a better offer in terms of portion size/value ratio.
Wonderful place to taste the traditional pork rib soup. I like the variety of dishes they have on the menu. It is a very relaxing place to spend couple hours with friends and families. The pork rib is soft and fresh.
Well they call Legendary for a reason! Like all comment said, is amaing and fresh pork everyday!
The meal combo Bak Kut Teh is absolutely fantastic and their customer service is exceptionally fantastic.
Must be back.
Bak Kut Teh (SGD $26) @ Legendary Bak Kut Teh.
.
Having established as their own brand since June 2011, this 3-generation family-run restaurant boasts exacting standards and good quality in their dishes.
.
Spiced with Sarawak peppercorn, the hearty broth is made by boiling pork back bones for hours, resulting in a rich meaty savoury sweet peppery spice flavour.
.
The fresh Indonesian pork ribs are large and meaty, gently simmered for up to 40 minutes till it achieves fall-off-the-bone tenderness, with a juicy sweet savoury chew.
.
The soft preserved mustard greens have light vegetal salty sweet earthy flavour, pairing well with the fluffy soft white rice with grainy sweet notes.
.
Completed with hot crisp you tiao / fried dough fritters, and a pot of warm Chinese tea.
An unexpected find. The restaurant was cool & importantly clean. The food was surprising fresh with the Bak Kut Teh without overly porky taste or smell. Nice. The other dishes were well cooked, vegs not overcooked, tow kee was well soaked, yew char kueh was best I've tasted actually. The Hae Chor was.well. Nice too, not to tight and dry.
Had a nice meal.
Took a lunch break here. Service and food are both very good. Top up soup automatically without need to ask. Had a happy lunch.
Ribs' meat is dry and the fritters is good. Soup is garlicky and peppery. Just give it a try if you happen to miss out one of the BKT place to go in your list.
Best bak kut teh in Singapore! Soup was really good and the staff refilled the soup for us again and again. Definitely coming back again!
