Komala Vilas Restaurant reviews
66 Amazing taste, you have to go try! Good speedy service, nice to just have veggie dishes. All great flavour and good service. If you have to time go eat here.
We waited around 10mins for table but 100% worth the wait- I saw some evenings the queue looked longer so just make sure you go in time.
The food and service is always good in Komala Vilas. We stay nearby so we can walk to this restaurant during our jaunt in Singapore.
I wish they include an elevator to go upstairs for lunch. On request they let my parents share the meals but mentioned there will be no refills.
Taste is always exceptional.
Busier place usually. You will have to wait in queue but it’s a value for money. Quantity and taste is also good.
While the restaurant is limited in space, the taste of the food makes up for it. Visited the place with my dad who came here after 49 years. The curd vadai and mango lassi is a must have!
Service is good Food is excellent
Love the place but the space is small.
Wuld love to go back and order again.
After it's reopening, the food standard has dropped slightly and prices have gone up. Still a good stop for a simple meal.
Among the best Indian restaurants we have tried. 100% local and Indian immersion in the heart of little India. Unpretentious but efficient service.
I just love it here. It has that old nostalgic atmosphere. On top of it, the food is super tasty. Go try. I love their fresh milk tea. Fabulous!
Decent vegetarian food, good Tamilnadu filter coffee.best chilli parotta in SG. Has enough seating space, but usually small or long queue waiting to dine in. Takeaway waiting time is long. Prices are at par with mid-high Indian restaurants. But still a better choice than adyar anandha bhavan a2b.
Value for money. Old set up but good tasting and affordable South Indian meals. Offers some North Indian options too.
As always, authentic and best South Indian restaurant in town.reasonably priced…can eat anytime of the day…
Had a set meal on 15th Nov. Utter rubbish!
It's only decent of you to taste your own food before serving it to others. Or have you forgotten ethics?
Except for salt & a high level of spice, there no taste on any dish except the payasam.
And to top it off, 2 of the staffs were talking so loudly on video call in the room near the hand wash area.
Disgraceful!
22-Dec-2021: Service was fast, disappointed by the quality of masala in dosa and the sambhar. After asking multiple times hot sambhar was provided, taste wise the quality has degraded a lot. Hence reducing it to 2 stars.
4yr ago review: Nice south Indian meals - 4 stars
So far the best Idly Chilly I have had.
Komala Vilas is the place to visit if you wish you have an authentic South Indian cuisine.
The restaurant is in Little India section of Singapore. There is a high chance that you may have to wait 5-10 minutes before your turn due to hour round rush at this outlet.
The tables are set apart from each other to comply with covid guidelines (however it isn’t as far as the tables should be).
We had Mysore Masala Dosa and Chilly Mini Idly, which was out of the world. The idly came with raita. Didn’t look like a good combination but tasted too good.
Buttermilk is a must try here.
The restaurant also offers North Indian cuisine.
One morning, we woke up early and decided to get here for breakfast. The place has a queue at 8 am in the morning (that's how good it is!) & every dish we ordered was delicious. We ordered aloo puri, rava masala dosa and vada chutney. Each dish was made to perfection. We loved it!
My fave Indian vegetarian place. Masala tea is best in sg so far. Prices are reasonable, and because they are good, expect to queue during peak.
The food was ok at best. It's always a hit or miss. The side dishes provided won't last past 1 day in the fridge. Maybe they reuse old chutney and Coconut sambal
Have been to this place several times and will keep going back again and again.
Authentic South Indian Food with strong filter coffee, Flavourful crispy dosas, softest idli or wholesome meals which come with a decent helping of ghee! Staff is friendly and helpful. Watch out for queues during Indian Festivals and weekends!
Services did not impress. Shambher served with masala dosa was not hot. Waiter/ Waitress did not bother to enquire whether customer need more chutney, shambher etc
Damn good Indian vegetarian restaurant. Ultra fast service and fresh food served. Super affordable and friendly and helpful service. I will come back soon.
