Hokkien Mee = S$5.00

This seems to be quite a popular stall and constantly have people lining up for this. The portion for the smallest S$5.00 given is quite a big plate and is quite generous and filling, perhaps thats the reason why.

Chilli has a Very Deep Salty Tau Cheo taste, and taste quite different from Conventional Chilli for a Hokkien Mee. 5 Pieces of Halved Prawns given for the Price and while they aren't Super Juicy or Bouncy, they're acceptable. I like the Noodles and they are Soft and Squishy in all the Right Ways. Not Overly Prawny also and Just Nice. Soft and easy to swallow.

The dish is not the Super Wet or Dry type and sits just about right in the Middle. I guess it would be best if you dapao this, and allow the Sauces to be Absorbed before you consume.

Ultimately, there is nothing wrong with this Hokkien Mee, but there is nothing particularly special too. I do appreciate that the amount of noodles given is very filling for its price. This is worth the money to try.

Really nice "wet" style hokkien mee. Nice smooth consistency and wok-hei. Not over over powering. The chili goes well with the noodles. Be prepared for a wait as there can be quite a line for it. Best of all.they leave a jar of crispy fried lard bits for you to add to your noodles as you wish! Yum!

Food quality and taste is not good anymore, the attitude is even worse.asked for crispy pork lard, say "cannot give since never ask when ordering".

$6 portion with 6 half prawns and pathetic portion of sotong. Comes with lots of noodles though, can get full from all the carbs. Chilli is forgetable. Average food with no wok hei. Not worth to queue.

This Hokkien Mee used to be more tasty previously. Price increased by $1 from previous $4. Taste average, fried pork lard given always not crispy.

This time I order their fried rice instead of Hokkien Prawn Mee. A plate of fried rice cost $4 and surprisingly the quantity could serve for 2 ppl. The quality of the food is consider 7.5 over 10. As it not salty and use the ingredients consider a lot vs to many other stalls charging $5 but just 2 pcs of prawn. Is recommended to try

Avoid eating too much. Fried rice is delicious because they throw in a lot of MSG. And too much MSG can potentially damage your liver. Avoid eating the food from this store. Hokkien mee also lots of MSG.

The taste is so so not worth the travel and the waiting time. There are better stalls elsewhere.

Prefer this version of hokkien prawn mee which was the soupier version. Overall taste was pretty flavorful. Only the chilli could be improve.

Overpriced, tasteless yet get treated with rude shop assistant. There are many other better noodle stalls around.

Too expensive. Nothing to shout about. Watery version. Not much ingredients. The price has gone up to $5. The size seems lesser and wetter.

First time I tried months ago was tapao, and tasted not bad. Today I tried at the market but it is tasteless and super salty. Chilli also lack the omph…disappointing.

One of the few not bad hokkien mee, but I found they cut the prawns in half sadly, and since they cannot exclude beansprout. I can’t give them more than 3 stars

A normal plate of fried hokkien prawn mee. Their version is the watery type. Sambal chilli normal and nothing to shout about. The sotongs and prawns are quite fresh though. This plate I got was the small $4 size.

Review updated (Mar 2021)
I am updating the review because I went back recently, and portion size has been reinstated! My previous experience was probably once off (maybe they ran out of containers), so I wanted to update this to reflect my most recent experiences.:)

June 2020
Portion shrunk quite significantly for $5 portion. First time visiting after circuit breaker and now it is now maybe 60% of previous (they changed to a smaller container and it is now only slightly more than half filled) And they charge 20cents more for the container. Closer to food court portion now. See my picture of portion.

Not too bad if you prefer wet type of hokkien mee. The big difference is the chili which change the taste well.

Very average, no wok hei at all.not sure why they have so many awards displayed at their stall haha.save your calories for another stall!

but they were very fast at dishing out each order, guess you can opt for this if you’re dying of hunger

Famous fried prawn noodles. Always ask not to put chilli but He always put. Long queue but they quite fast and cook in batch.
