Cathedral of the Good Shepherd reviews
32The weekend sermon lacked clarity, with the speaker exhibiting a tendency to mumble throughout the delivery. I have yet to attend a weekend sermon that effectively conveyed the word of God in a charismatic manner.
Peaceful and and quiet. Located right in the middle or town directly opposite bras besar mrt and chijmes.
Seat of Singapore's Roman Catholic Archbishop, the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd is a relatively tiny church in the heart of the city with an active congregation.
Highlights include the expansive Bethlehem Village that's put up every Christmas with modifications from the previous year.
Centrally located Catholic church for weekend and weekday mass/service. It is also a contemplative and tranquil space on weekdays for those needing a break from hustle and bustle of busy day at work.
Lunchtime All Saints Service.
Very rude and unwelcoming ushers.
As a Catholic I’m very disappointed.
I can’t imagine what kind of an impression visitors or non Catholics might have had.
Been there yesterday. VERY peaceful and solemn place, adoration chapel is located at basement.rt. Side.
The Mother church of the Catholic community in Singapore. Rich in history, richer in spirituality. Taste and see!
Temp suspension of masses due to covid 19. But confession are available from 1 to 2 pm daily. Precaution measure was taken. Those going for confession need to wear mask and have temp taken. Also they will sanitize your hands. It was really good to be able to be in church just to pray.
Very beautiful. And an amazing place to pray and remember the starting point of the Catholic church in Singapore.
This is the first Catholic church in Singapore.
It had won the architectural heritage awards in 2017.
The ushers help you find empty seats and encourage patrons who hog them to scoot over but best to get there no later than 20-25 minutes before mass if you want to get a seat. Otherwise, it’s standing room only past that.
This is a historical monument and j have to say, one of the best catholic churches around.huge and spacious.
Old building refurbished and a long history behind this building. Worth your while to soak in the atmosphere.
What a beautiful church! And mass was fantastic, sermon was meaningful! Church was crowded, so go early to get a place to sit. And the choir was mind blowing! Felt like an orchestra.
Simple. Solemn. Truly a sacred space in the midst of the city and busy streets. A good place to commune with God.
It is a heritage site, oldest catholic church. After the recent refurbishment it is worth a visit especially internal decor.
Spend time in perpetual adorarion of our Eucharistic Lord Jesus in the chapel found at the basement of the annex building.
Beautiful holy place. This is truly a Catholic church with beautiful figures of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. The atmosphere was very peaceful with many kind people leaving after the Sunday evening service.
Cathedral of the Good Shepherd is extremely historic and beautiful, the first and oldest Catholic Church in Singapore, it went through a great restoration and is now in a pristine condition and has a perpetual adoration chapel for people to adore the blessed sacrament (the real body of Christ) 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It also hosts many heritage events in Singapore due to its historic and strategic importance to not just the Catholic faith, but to the development of Singapore as a country
