Authentic Fried Hokkien Mee 正牌炒福建麵 reviews
15The Hokkien mee here is good! Not a lot of wok hey, wish for more! But it definitely brings back memories from the time I had my favourite Hokkien mee at Pasir Panjang hawker that’s now closed… the Hokkien mee is wet, and that’s great too!
Usually soldout even around 7: 30 range.
Seems to be a hot favourite for the regulars.
Tried it and wasnt too bad. Nice plate of simple hkk mee goodness.
Mine was the very last plate so i'm glad i had it.
Very AUTHETIC Fried Hokkien Mee! 1st time I tried and I fell in love. Uncle really not rushing even with a big hungry crowd waiting outside his stall. Taking his time to fried, making the mee infused with prawn/sotong seafood taste.
Best part is overall the plate of HKM comes very a fresh seafood taste.
Highly recommended!
This hokkien mee tastes homely and pleasant. Its flavour is closer to a braised noodle rather than a hokkien mee, as the stock lacks that strong prawny-porky taste. There were 2 prawns, small slices of meat and sotong. The chilli is sweet, punchy and went well with the noodles.
I walked past and saw this very nice couple just opening up their store. I ordered the small hokkien Noodle to go, 4sgd for a generous service of noodles and ingredients. The noodles were done well, and was super flavourful. The couple running the store was also super friendly. Such a heartwarming experience - fantastic tasting food, low prices, very humble and kind uncle and auntie running the shop - definitely worth a repeat visit.
Many stalls closed when we came and wife felt like hokkien mee so this place got the nod. Looks more promising than the taste, which was fairly average. Couldn't see any prawns at first and the 3 in the photo were dug up from the bottom of the noodles.
Came to Circuit road hawker centre wanting to try something else instead but unfortunately they were closed. Walked around and noticed this particular stall selling fried hokkien mee and char kway teow. Price for hokkien mee and char kway teow starts from SGD$4 and SGD$3 respectively.
Ordered the small fried hokkien mee which was SGD$4, comes with the standard ingredient of sotong strips, prawns and pork belly strips. Since i omitted the pork, it was replaced with fishcake slices. Noodle was nicely fried, even there was no wok hei the taste was fantastic. The hokkien mee has the right amount of moisture, not too wet nor too dry. The ingredient tasted fresh!
Overall, highly recommended. Would come back again in the future for their char kway teow.
Don't be misled by the stall name, this stall serves char kway teow too. And the CKT is quite good, moist with bit of charred aroma, lightly sweetened and soft kway teow with good amount of bean sprout. Nice.
Smell nice when it being fried. Taste wise not as fantastic. Not enough garlic. $4 for smallest plate come with 2 fresh prawns.
Good Hokkien mee. Flavourful stock. Large portion of noodles with 4 small fresh prawns, squid slices, and pork bits for the $5 plate.
This is the wet version of hokkien mee with aroma wok hei and very generous serving.always my first choice of food while eating at this long hawker centre.
Fragrance cook, have some cockles in, 2 slices of fish cake. Chilli not spicy at all for me.
Came over to try out this stall, after numerous recommendations by my friend. There was quite a queue when we reached. So we reckoned that the standard should be good. We ordered $5.00 version and it took a while for the Hokkien Mee to be served. Judging from the initial look, it seemed delicious, it was watery, with lots of eggs and generous portion of noodles. After mixing the chilli with the noodles, I took my first bite, I was very disappointed. The Hokkien Mee was bland, no flavour. The noodles didn’t absorb any of the stock or actually the prawn stock didn't have any taste either. There was no evident of Wok Hei taste too. It's just a mediocre plate of Hokkien Mee, which I felt, I have eaten better ones. I would give this stall a miss.
Very very tasty. Easily one of the best in Singapore. Lots of garlic bits, noodles cooked just right & nice gravy. Chilli is also very very good. Friendly hawker couple. Close on Monday. Opens for lunch & dinner to about 8 pm.
Quality still good although Price increased to $3.50, better than other similar stall that increased to minimum $4.00!
