51 Ming Fa Wanton Egg Noodle (#01-64) reviews
9Noodle base was sweet black sauce and chilli — similar to my favourite at 79 Telok Blangah Drive. Good. But just a tad too much that it overpowered the overall taste of the “5 flavours”. Soup was naturally sweet from the prawns. Queue moved faster than I remembered (when several seniors were running the shop). Overall, definitely can eat lah!
The wanton mee with the longer queue in Kovan. The older cooks are training the younger ones. Nice noodles and sauce makes the dish so popular here. Unlike roasted houses, wanton mee stalls don’t offer the best charsiew but this place does it reasonable well and the wantons are pretty tasty. They are not your restaurant standard but definitely above average for hawker food fare.
You gotta love the chilli and the sauce. Thought it tasted super good or even better with the kway teow / hor fun. My personal pick will be the chicken, mushroom hor fun with extra chilli. Gives you the zing. Be prepared to queue. But crowd loves it and they are fiercely loyal
First time trying this Wanton Mee at Kovan Market. Fell in love straight away. There is this taste in the chili and sauce mixture that caught my taste bud. Both the Hor fan and Noodle are great.
I had the wanton noodle which i find pretty average.
$5 order looks the same with $4 one, even the number of wantons are the same.
Overhead the couple beside me saying their $4 portion is Inadequate and I couldn't agree more with my $5 portion.
Mixture of the chilli paste n seasoning is too sweet. Noodle texture not to my liking, more to the Pontian wtm kind. Their wonton is really miserable, too small n lots of skin. I would rate them at 1/5.
Used to be good.nowadays expensive and very SMALL portion.if increase price portion should not decrease. There are other better places.
Don’t bother to come. It’s always close! NEA should consider taking back the stalls for other entrepreneurs and not let it wasted there.
